Muk (Japanese: ベトベトン Betbeton) is a Poison-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I.

It evolves from Grimer starting at level 38.

In Alola, Muk has a dual-type Poison/Dark regional form. It evolves from Alolan Grimer starting at level 38.

Muk's English name comes from the corruption of the word "muck". It is a sludge Pokémon that can also be based on Dorotabō, a one-eyed, three-fingered yōkai that rises from the mud of neglected, overgrown rice fields. Its body smells so awful, it can cause fainting. Through degeneration, it had lost its sense of smell.
